Unlike commercial dusting sprays that are harsh, this dusting spray is gentle and non-toxic. This spray is gentle but it’s tough on dirt and grime, erasing fingerprints, smears and repelling dust.
Furniture doesn’t always need to be polished every time you dust. A through cleaning can be done once or twice a month with regular dusting with this spray in between.
What Are The Ingredients in This Dusting Spray?
Distilled water is best to use because the dusting spray lasts longer.
Vinegar helps break down grease and grime plus it’s a good, all-purpose natural non toxic cleaner.
Olive oil helps wood maintain moisture, prevents dust from settling onto your furniture, and provides a shine.
Essential oils are great non-toxic cleaners with antibacterial, antiviral, and deodorizing properties. Some essential oils to use are lemon, orange, grapefruit, lemongrass, tea tree, lavender and peppermint. You can use just one oil, like lemon or mix several scents together to create a unique scent!
A dark glass spray bottle is important because the essential oils used in this recipe over time will break down plastic bottles.
Dusting Spray Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup of distilled water
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 olive oil cup
- 30 drops essential oils
- 16 oz. glass spray bottle
Directions
- Mix all ingredients together in an empty spray bottle.
- Shake before use because the oil and water separate.
- Spray directly onto the surface you are dusting or spray it on a microfiber cloth and wipe the dust and grime off.
Test this dusting spray on an inconspicuous area of your wooden furniture before using it on the entire surface.
Dusting isn’t a chore I remember to do on a regular basis, until the sunlight streaming through the window hits the coffee table just right. I’m busy doing so many other things, dusting is the least of my worries! Until I notice that dust! I feel so much better using this dusting spray and ditching the commercial brands.
