Delicious Elderberry Syrup Gummies for Cold Flu & Sleep

Elderberry syrup is immune enhancing and protective against colds and flu. It’s one of my favorite natural remedies for avoiding or beating the flu. These flu and cold busting gummies combine the immune boost from elderberry syrup with the gut benefits of gelatin for a healthy and delicious way to beat the flu.  Adults as well as kids love these! What a tasty way to combat colds and flu!

Elderberry Syrup Gummie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup elderberry syrup (recipe here)
  • 1/2 cup hot water (not boiling)
  • 1/4 cup gelatin powder
  • Silicon molds (I love these molds from Amazon, see below)

Instructions

  • Place ¼ cup of cooled elderberry syrup in a 2 cup measuring cup and add gelatin powder.
  • Quickly whisk together to temper the gelatin powder.
  • Add the ½ cup of hot (not boiling) water and stir quickly until smooth.
  • Add the rest of the elderberry syrup and stir or whisk until completely smooth.
  • Pour in to the molds and let set until completely firm.
  • Pop out of molds and store in air tight container in the fridge.
  • Take daily as needed to avoid flu or take every few hours to help beat the flu faster.
  • Store the gummies in the fridge they’ll last 2 months if not more. Freezing them they’ll last up to 1 year.

Dosage

  • Adults take 4 gummies per day, can be taken 2-3 times per day when under the weather.
  • Children over 1: 2 gummies per day, also can be taken 2-3 times per day when under the weather.
  • Do not give to children under 1 years old, because these contain honey.

I freeze the whole batch of gummy bears in containers, then when signs of cold or flu start to show I take a container out and put them in the fridge.

The molds I linked to in the recipe are the exact ones I use and I absolutely love them. Many recipes say to coat the molds with coconut oil or a spray to prevent sticking but with these molds that’s not necessary at all. These are very sturdy but flexible molds that allow the gummies to pop out without tearing them.

So what do you think? Will you try these simple and easy to make cold and flu gummies for you and your family?
